As part of the Screen Berkshire Skills Cluster, the University of Reading is working in partnership with the BFI to map the current use of AI tools in Film and TV production by below-the-line professionals.
As the use of AI tools expands rapidly, so does the need for guidance and resources to ensure professionals are safe and supported. The BFI is committed to providing evidence-based resources and training. Our team will be surveying professionals from across departments to determine the drivers behind AI use and any concerns people have.
We are approaching this research from a point of neutrality. AI is an emotive topic across
the creative industries. We are interested equally in individuals’ reasons for using or not
using AI tools.
